IT department staff built e-learning module in China

Ahmad Bearat, Ala' Mohammad, and Imad Tartir, Employees from Birzeit University’s Information Technology Department, have concluded a 20-day training course in China on incorporating technology into higher education. 

The course, held in Guangzhou, Beijing, Wuhan, and Shenzhen from June 19 to July 9, covered the theoretical and practical aspects for using technology in higher education, and utilizing Massive Open Online Courses (mooc) design and implementation.

The team, along with 40 representative from Asian and European universities, also visited the development labs of companies that build support systems for online and e-learning, such as Guangzhou Createview Science-Education, Huawei, Guangzhou Create View Education Technology, XuetangX, USI Education.

Additionally, Birzeit University’s engineers cooperated with teams from the Southern University of Science and Technology to develop a learning module on the state of higher education in Palestine and highlight the best methods to incorporate e-learning into courses and programs offered at Birzeit University.
