Graduation of Second Cohort of Sports Management Diploma Students

On 29 February 2012, the Center for Continuing Education
(CCE) at BZU celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of Sports
Management Diploma Students and the opening of the training for the third
cohort of Sports Management Diploma Students. This program is implemented by
the CCE in cooperation with the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), which was established in 1995 as a joint venture between the
Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) and the Palestinian Football Association (PFA).
The graduation ceremony was attended by Dr. Munir Qazzaz, Vice-President for
Community Outreach; Jibril Rajoub, Head of the Palestine Olympic Committee and Palestinian
Football Association; Secretary General of PFA, Abdel-Majeed Hijjeh; Mr.
Vincent Monnier, Senior Manager of International Relations at CIES; Marwan
Tarazi, CCE Director; and the Sports Management Program Manager, Rania al-Qassem,
as well as the Program staff.

 

Dr. Qazzaz affirmed that this program has contributed to
building a network of relationships on the local and international levels. He
valued the significant role played by CIES in collaboration with the CCE’s
staff, congratulating the graduates and those who won the FIFA award.

Monnier stressed the need for a profound understanding of the
Program to be able to benefit from it. He congratulated the winners of the FIFA award, who will be presenting their projects before
the master’s students of Sports Management at the University of Zurich in
Switzerland.

Rajoub highlighted the importance of the Program at the
national level. He also talked about the development of sports in Palestinian
and the decision to place sports as a priority on the Palestinian national agenda.

Tarazi thanked PFA and FIFA, describing this collaboration as
a true partnership. He valued the students’ efforts, expressing his pride in their
achievements, especially the group that won the FIFA award, hoping for more
success stories.
