Faculty members visit Italy for online management study visit

In accordance with the Erasmus+ Project entitled “Develop Business and Economic Research Centers Capacity at Palestinian Higher Education Institutions (BERC)”, four professors from the Faculty of Business and Economics participated in a session at the University of L’Aquila in Italy.

This visit is the second visit funded by the European Union and Erasmus + Programme, the BERC project, which is consist of local partner universities (Islamic University of Gaza, Al Quds Open University, Al Azhar University, University College of Applied Sciences) and European universities (KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, University of Huddersfield in the UK, University of Almeria in Spain, University of L’Aquila in Italy). 

The visit aims to address topics related to research methods for the online world and management of business research centers.  The staff members representing Birzeit University and the Faculty of Business and Economics are the department chairperson of the finance and banking department, Ms. Muniece Alfar, instructors Ms. Fairouz Darwish, Ms. Shireen Basha, and Ms. Wojdan Farraj.

This visit precedes a third visit within the same programme to the University of Almeria in Spain where eight faculty members are participating for the week of May 15 - May 22. The proposed topics for this visit are research design and survey methods, and introduction to data science and big data analytics. The faculty members representing Birzeit University and the Faculty of Business and Economics in this visit are Dr. Suhail Sultan, the director of the MBA and EMBA programs, Dr. Samia Al Botmeh, the Director of BERC, Dr. Yousef Nasser, Dr. Samir Baidoun, Mr. Mirabo Shammas, Dr. Anton Sabella, Dr. Nojoud Habash, and Dr. Yousef Hassan.  Six of the eight originally attended the introductory study visit back in November of 2016 hosted by KTH in Sweden, addressing the topics of networking and scientific research.
