BZU Student Council Elections 2010/2011

On 31 March 2011, a number of student political blocs at BZU competed to get seats in the Student Council for the current academic year 2010 / 2011, where the elections ratio, as announced by the Preparatory Committee for the Conference of the Student Council, was 49.82 %, while the number of students, who have the right to vote was 7,374 students.

The seats were distributed as follows: the Martyr Yasser Arafat Bloc got 29 seats out of 51, in the absence of students' participation, who demanded the amendment of the current constitution of the Student Council, while the Wafaa' Islamic Bloc has declined to run for the elections this year

Moreover, the United Democratic Qutob Block ranked second with ten seats, and the Leftist Coalition Block won four seats, while the Palestine for all Bloc got four seats. 

According to the Statistics of the Committee, the number of valid ballots was 3255, and the number of invalid ballots was 255, while the number of blank votes was 164.

The Martyr Yasser Arafat Bloc in last year's elections has won 31`seats out of 51 seats, while the  Birzeit for All Bloc got 16 seats, and the Palestinian Initiative has won 3 seats, while the Wafaa' Islamic Bloc and the Islamic League have declined to run for the elections.
