BZU President, Dr. Khalil Hindi, signed a cooperation agreement with the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) and the Kuwaitis for Jerusalem Committee regarding  the implementation of the project " Enabling people with special needs" at BZU. The "AGFUND" will fund the project with an amount of US$ 70,000, while the Kuwaitis for Jerusalem Committee will donate US$ 20,000, to be allocated for purchasing equipment and devices to equip a specialized laboratory that will contribute to the empowerment of people with special needs at BZU, including faculty members and students, in terms of reading, printing and web browsing. This is a vital step towards enabling those with special needs to seek higher education..

BZU seeks to be able to provide a center that renders services for people with special needs in the Palestinian society, so as to enable them to communicate and keep abreast of new information and develop their creative abilities by using what is offered by advanced technology in this area. However, BZU will be installing a specialized lab for this purpose in Hall #402 on the third floor of the public library building on campus , upon the purchasing of the special equipment during the coming period.
