BZU Hosts Meeting of the Academic Council of French Consortium

The Faculty of Law and Public Administration at BZU hosted
the 6th meeting of the Academic Council of the French Consortium to support BZU
faculty. The meeting was attended by BZU President, Dr. Khalil Hindi; Dean of
the Faculty of Law and Public Administration, Dr. Saleh Abdel Jawad; Institute
of Law Director, Dr. Ghassan Faramand; department chairpersons and a number of
faculty members.

The French Delegation consisted of a number of professors,
directors of international relations, representatives of the University of
Paris I and University of Paris VII, as well as representatives from the
University of Aix-Marseille, Institutes of Political Studies in Paris and
Rennes. Moreover, the State Councilor of France, Mr. Jacques Fournier, the
Cultural Attaché at the French Consulate General in Jerusalem, Mr. Benoit Tadie and the Attaché for Administration and University
Cooperation, Mr. Philippe
Cappelaere, as well
as the delegated project coordinator, Valentin Grange, all participated in the meeting.

 

 

Following Dr. Hindi’s welcome address, Dr. Abdel Jawad and Dr.
Faramand overviewed the project’s major achievements. Both presented their
suggestions for further spheres of cooperation beyond the conclusion of this project,
which is anticipated in August 2012. The French participants expressed their
readiness to continue support and cooperation with the Faculty and Institute of
Law on multiple levels. The meeting concluded with the summary of a set of recommendations
that aim at continuing cooperation between BZU and members of the Consortium.
