BZU Electrical Engineering Department Places First at Arab Innovation Network Annual Conference

BZU Electrical Engineering Department won first prize in the field of
Information and Communication Technology at the Arab Innovation Network Annual
Conference organized by Cambridge University's Arab Innovation Network Society
and held on December 4-6, 2012 in the United Arab Emirates.

The department submitted a scientific research project conducted by three
female Electrical Engineering students, Tamara Sandouka, Mariam Yahya and
Hadeel Izz, supervised by Professor Wael Hashlamoun. The project, entitled
ldquo;Speaker Recognition System,rdquo; was the studentsrsquo; graduation project.

Scientists and creative thinkers from all over the world participated in
this conference to support innovation and creativity in the Arab region.
Subject areas included Information and Communication Technology, Health
Sciences, Environment and Entrepreneurship. Thirty eight groups represented
eight Arab countries: Palestine, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt,
Lebanon, Oman, Algeria and Libya.
