13 Police Officers Graduate from Programs at BZU Center for Continuing Education

The Center for Continuing Education (CCE) at BZU held a
graduation ceremony for thirteen police officers on 16 May 2012.  The graduates participated in two programs:
first, Principles of Design and Development of E-Curricula and, second, Managing
the Virtual Learning Environment “Moodle.” This project was funded by the
Canadian Government through the United Nations Office for Project Services
(UNOPS).

 

The Head of the Unit of Learning Innovation at the CCE, Dr. Osama
Mimi, emphasized BZU and the CCE’s role in community service by providing
qualified cadres. Project Coordinator, Rasha Odeh,
thanked all those who contributed to the success of this project.

Deputy Director of the Training Directorate at the
Palestinian Police, Abdul Hakim Abu al-Rub said that the strategy of the Police
is based on building a fair and transparent police foundation able to manage its
human resources. He added: "The participating police
officers were able to use information technology to improve their performance
and design programs that effectively contribute to building a police foundation
in Palestine."

On behalf of the graduates, Khalid Abu Zahra, stressed the
importance of using modern educational methods, especially blended learning,
for the purpose of maintaining long-term knowledge.
