The third Palestinian Advanced Physics School

The third Palestinian Advanced Physics School will be held at Birzeit University, during July 14-18, 2019. The school is co-organized by the Department of Physics at Birzeit University, represented by its chair Dr. Abdallah Sayyed-Ahmad, and Scientists for Palestine represented by Dr. Nabil Iqbal from the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Durham University.

The aim of the school is to introduce Palestinian students of advanced physics to topics in modern physics research.

A number of lectures and seminars will be provided in the four-day summer school, featuring international academics and experts in variety of topics, including:

- Topics in modern cosmology- Prof. Ann-Christine Davis (University of Cambridge)

- Atomic Resolution Electron microscopy –by Prof. Rafal Dunin-Borkowski (FZ Jülich/RTWH Aachen)

- Semi-conductor quantum optics-by Prof. Beata Kardynal (FZ Jülich/RTWH Aachen)

The school will also include interactive problem-solving sessions, and tutorials on practical skills that are useful for academics.

The target audience for the school is advanced undergraduates and physics Master students at universities in Palestine. The application deadline has passed, but we may still consider applications made here. We aim to respond to everyone by mid-June.
