Theoretical aspects related to essential and advanced operations used in the manufacture of pharmaceutical products including unit operations such as blending, granulation, fluidized bed operations, milling, capsule filling, compaction, tablet compression and coating and other operations; the importance of scheduling and sequencing unit operations and how deviations can cascade along the production sequence until they cause process failures; scale-up pharmaceutical unit operations, trouble-shooting, and optimization.
