A comparative analytical study of Arab and international mass communication systems, media policies, main international media blocks: its funding, philosophy, and relations with the state and various institutions in society. Selected examples of media from the third world and developed industrial countries, the role of culture and awareness in forming regional and international relations, Arab and international news agencies and the flow of information, news leak and news steering. Role of Media in propaganda and on shaping public opinion, the technical and political transformation in the Arab region and the world and its impact on mass media. (3 credit hours)
