The life cycle of parasites, methods of transmission to humans and the development of disease. The role the immune system plays against parasitic infection and new non-microscopic technologies used to diagnose these parasites, treatment with different anti-parasitic drugs. Methods for developing protective vaccines. (Two hours lecture, three hours lab)
