An introduction on the practice of statistical analysis, the basic techniques of descriptive and inferential statistics that are used by practicing planners, the distinction between descriptive and inferential statistics and training on how to calculate measures of central tendency and dispersion, identifying the basic theoretical assumptions that underlie inferential statistics, perform simple linear and multivariate regression and interpret regression results, Use of the SPSS/PASW computer package to perform basic statistical analysis.
