ENAR5321 | THEORIES OF INTERIOR DESIGN

Philosophies, theories and stylistic movements related to interior design, starting from antiquity until the present time, including the middle ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque, the Neoclassical, the Industrial revolution, the modern era and the contemporary movements of the current century, design styles and theories of each period taking into consideration the decorative arts, architectural details, material development and furniture design in relation to functional and aesthetic concepts, interior design approaches throughout the different periods and their implications on interior design and functional requirements. (Lecture 3 hours.)
