In this course students practice, scanning, skimming and critical reading comprehension by paraphrasing main ideas, getting meaning from context, previewing and predicting, making inferences and drawing conclusions, detecting author’s purpose, identifying audience and tone and distinguishing between fact and fiction. Further, students will practice employing vocabulary building activities such as context clues, word analysis and understanding.
