An introduction to the main functional groups in organic chemistry. The study includes alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, aliphatic, cyclic and aromatic compounds, halides, alcohols, ethers, phenols thiols, carbonyls, amines, carboxylic acids, and their derivatives. Stereochemistry of organic compounds and their reactions.(Lecture 3 hours.)
