Analysis of Arabic syntactically and semantically to facilitate the rendition of accurate translation in Arabic; complex sentence and phrase structures, morphological lexicographic, and semantic issues, terminology and expressions in different contexts; borrowed terms; stylistic features of Arabic prose; cohesiveness and coherence; usage of punctuation marks; ambiguity, brevity and repetition. Prerequisite: ARAB136, (3 credit hours, 3 contact hours).
