Mrs. Assali was a member of the Administrative Committee of the Board of Trustees. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the American University of Beirut (1960) and a master’s degree from Indiana University (1964). Mrs. Assali taught English language in local schools until 1967, then worked at Birzeit University as faculty member until her retirement in 2001. She founded the al-Saraya Center for Community Services in the Old City of Jerusalem. She has participated in several conferences abroad and spoken about the rights of Palestinians and Palestinian women. She has also written several articles on property confiscation in West Jerusalem.
