Training on Research Methods in Social Sciences

Birzeit University’s Center for Development Studies announces the opportunity to join a training program on research methodologies in social sciences.

The 30-hour training will held on Zoom, targeting master’s degree students and undergraduate students who are expected to complete their degrees during the current academic year.

The training introduces participants to cutting-edge approaches and skills in social science research. It aims to stimulate critical and constructive discussions on research methodologies, to enable researchers think critically and creatively.  

Participants will learn the key steps to start their research, including carefully choosing their research topic, effectively collecting and analyzing data and preparing for fieldwork.

The training will also focus on digital ethnography, and how it can be used as a research methodology. It outlines how researchers should take into consideration the cultural setting, the context of colonization, and the existence of wars when analyzing issues related to economics and development.

The last date for receiving nomination/ application is on 6 June 2020.
