Training Course in Data Science Foundations
The Center for Continuing Education (CCE) at Birzeit University announces the first Data Science training course in Palestine. The Data Science Foundations course is the first in a two-course series, the second being Applied Data Science.
About the course:
Data Science is a new discipline that applies statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms to various kinds of data (big and small) to derive business value (business intelligence, analytics and predictions). It is used by many companies and institutions including retail, services, banking, telecommunications and social media.
What are the requirements?
This course is intended for professionals working with data, graduates planning to improve their data literacy and startups with data-intensive operations. It requires solid programming skills and mid-level mathematical and statistical foundations. The first course will be conducted in Python, related packages and frameworks. Candidates should take the online Python short course at https://www.edx.org/course/introduction-python-data-science-microsoft-dat208x-3 as a minimum preparation for this course.

Registration Fee: $100, paid upon acceptance and before training starts.
Training starts on November 2016 at Center for Continuing Education, Masa Building, 6th Floor in Ramallah.
