Birzeit university museum in cooperation with Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center invite you to attend a Lecture: “Palestinian Artists of the Intifada an I “, by samia Halaby, At Khalil Sakakini Cultural Center, Ramallah, on Monday, 9 November 2015, at 06:00 pm.Samia Halaby will speak of her experience in writing her book, “Liberation Art of Palestine”, published in 2003, for which she interviewed nearly 50 Palestinian artist between 1999 – 2003. According to her research, Halaby says that drawing during the intifada was relied on many sources, including abstract Islamic art of the middle ages, the revolutionary art during the 20th century, and the Mexican Murals Movement, in particular. In addition to Art through different historical periods in the Arab region, and the symbolic content of Palestinian popular thought.
