University students begin building skillsets for remote-work platform in series of workshops

Birzeit University students recently began a series of training sessions and workshops in preparation for the launch of View Platform, a remote-work initiative which aims to create job opportunities for Palestinian college students.

More than 100 students from a variety of academic backgrounds and majors have taken part in the training sessions, organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, on the university’s campus

The sessions focus on a number of technical and technological fields such as web development, smartphone app development, e-commerce, and graphic design.

View Platform, a project  supported by Partners for Sustainable Development and Taawon Organization, will serve as an intermediary through which Palestinian youth can connect to global remote-work platforms. The platform will offer unique, integrated training programs based on users’ skillsets and the needs of the local and regional job markets.

Wasel Ghanem, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, stressed the importance of such programs and initiatives that not only integrate Palestinian youth in regional and global labor markets but also empower them to start their own technology businesses.
