Second integrated circuit design course begins at VLSI Lab

The VLSI Lab in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Birzeit University has launched the second integrated circuit design course, which introduces students to circuit design skills that are crucial for their careers in the local, regional, and international job markets.

The VLSI Lab, supported by Intel, provides students with specialized training courses and hands-on experience in design verification and testing of integrated circuits.  VLSI is a process of creating integrated circuits through which hundreds of thousands of transistors and other components are combined on a single chip.

Wasel Ghanem, dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, said that such practical courses help bridge the skill gap between higher learning institutions and the job market, and noted the need to keep abreast of the rapid pace of technological development with specialized workshops, seminars, and courses.
