Department of Public Administration concludes “Steer Your Career” course

The Department of Public Administration at the Faculty of Law and Public Administration at Birzeit University concluded the “Steer Your Career” training course. The course was held in cooperation with INJAZ Palestine from 10/10/2017 to 12/12/2017, and was

attended by 30 third- and fourth-year level students from the department.

The Chair of the Department of Public Administration Mayyada Badawi noted that the course is the result of the academic partnership with INJAZ Palestine, “This course aims to help students make conscious decisions regarding their academic and career futures, in addition to building and enhancing the skills needed to achieve success in external markets.”

“I commend the efforts of the volunteering coach Khalil Al Ranteesi, who gave his best to prepare, organize, and implement this training course. I would also like to praise the students who made this course a success with their active participation and engaging attendance. INJAZ Palestine is also worthy of applause and compliment, as their efforts in this regard are invaluable.”

Operational Officer at INJAZ Palestine Riham Anabtawi said, “Our organization is working toward building an enabling culture for Palestinian youth, and one of the main tenets of building a Palestinian society based on citizenship and success is an active, engaged college-student segment.”

The training course explored a group of topics that aimed to identify and familiarize students with employability skills that facilitate job hunting and job retention. The course also introduced creative, personalized strategies that ensure access to job opportunities, such as leadership in a variable environment, time management, oral communication, written communication, problem-solving, team dynamics, and conflict resolution in a team-driven environment.

The final training course session introduced students to job-hunting mechanisms, provided practical advice that would help them land job opportunities, and presented strategies that can be used in job searching. Certificates were then handed out to the participants.
