BZU Professors Receive Emerald Literati Award- Highly Commended Paper

Professors of Marketing and Business Administration Anton Sabella, Mira El-Far and Niveen Eid from i Birzeit University, has received a Highly-Commended Paper Award in the 2017 Emerald Literati Awards of Excellence.

The winning paper titled “The effects of organizational and job characteristics on employees' organizational commitment in arts-and-culture organizations”, aimed to investigate the nature of organizational commitment among employees of Palestinian arts-and-culture organizations and to examine the combined effect and role of organizational and job characteristics in shaping employees’ commitment.

The researchers concluded that the job characteristics as critical determinants of employees’ commitment, particularly its affective component; which was also found to be the most accurate description of organizational commitment in arts-and-culture organizations.

Winning and highly commended authors have been selected by Emerald’s Journal and book series editorial boards, who look for research, which demonstrates rigor and relevance as well as contributing something new to their field. The Award’s judging criteria included internationality; diversity; support for scholarly research; encouragement of applied research; and commitment to high-quality scholarship.
