Graduate Students
The Faculty of Graduate Studies offers programs leading towards a Master degree and programs leading to a post-graduate diploma. A Bachelor degree is the minimum requirement for admission to enroll in any of the graduate programs.
Degree requirements: The requirements for a Master degree are a minimum of 36 credit hours. In various programs, there are options for a thesis or a non-thesis track.
The requirements for a postgraduate diploma are a minimum of 21 credit hours.
Graduate Programs
- Master Degree: Contemporary Arabic Studies; Arabic Islamic History; International Studies; Democracy and Human Rights; Economics; Education; Law; Community and Public Health; Sociology; Water Engineering; Gender, Law and Development; Business Administration; and Medical Laboratory Technology.
- Postgraduate Diploma: Primary Healthcare (Supervision and Training); Medical Laboratory Technology; Gender, Law, and Development.
Admission:
- The minimum requirement is a Bachelor of Arts degree from either Birzeit University or any other accredited university.
- Two recommendation letters either from two faculty members from where the applicant acquired the BA; or from two staff members who oversaw the work of the applicant, or one of each.
- The applicant may go through an interview process with the program directors.
- The program council at Birzeit University, in coordination with the Ministry for Higher Education, might set its own requirements for admissions, which may include proficiency in a foreign language and work experience.
