Faculty of Science
The faculty of Science was established in 1972 as one of the first faculties in the university which granted the B.Sc degree in 1976. The Faculty houses five academic departments; Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Science, and Biolgy-Biochemsity departments. The number of students enrolled at the faculty reached over nine hundred with over ninety faculty members.
The academic departments offer various academic degrees at the B.Sc. level in Mathematics, Mathematical economics, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, and a degree in Physics with minors in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Electronics. This is in addition to minors in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry and Biochemistry offered for those students who are interested.
At the Graduate level, the faculty currently offers a Masters program in Medical Laboratory Science and participates in other graduate programs in Applied Statistics, Computational Science, Water and Environmental Science, and Economics. Current plans are concentrating on introducing other programs at a graduate level.
