Bachelor Program in Major Physics/Minor Computer Science
Admission Requirements
1. Student must successfully complete and obtain a cumulative average of 70% in PHYS111 , PHYS141 , PHYS132 .
2. Student must successfully complete and obtain a cumulative average of 65% in MATH132 , MATH141 .
3. Department approval based on intake capacity - priority is given to students with higher scores in the courses above and where these are even, other academic criteria can be sought by the department committee.
Condition for Continuing in Major
Student in Major must maintain a cumulative Major average of not less than 70%.
Program Requirements
Student must successfully complete a minimum of 68 credit hours of courses distributed as follows:
1. Core courses in Physics (31 credit hours):
PHYS112 , PHYS211 , PHYS212 , PHYS231 , PHYS232 , PHYS331 , PHYS333 , PHYS335 , PHYS336 , PHYS411 , PHYS430 , PHYS433 , PHYS 431 or PHYS436
2. Elective courses in Physics (6 credit hours) from the following list:
PHYS233 , PHYS234 , PHYS235 , PHYS332 , PHYS334 , PHYS337 , PHYS338 , PHYS339 , PHYS432 , PHYS434 , PHYS435 , PHYS437 , PHYS438
3. Core courses in Computer Science (15 credit hours)
COMP232 , COMP234 , COMP333 , COMP339 , COMP433
4. Elective courses in Computer Science (6 credit hours) from third year level and above.
5. (10 credit hours) MATH231 , MATH234 , MATH331 , CHEM112
