Bachelor Program in Major: Geography/Minor : History

The Department of Geography offers two academic programs leading to Bachelor degree, namely Major Geography/ Minor History or Minor Political Science.

Major Geography / Minor History

Admission Requirements

1. A grade not less than 70% in each of the following courses: GEOG230 and HIST231 .

2. Department approval based on intake capacity - priority is given to students with higher scores in the courses above and where these are even, other academic criteria can be sought by the department committee.

Condition for Continuing in Major

Student in Major must maintain a cumulative Major average of not less than 70%.

Program Requirements

1. Student must successfully complete a minimum of 42 credit hours of courses in Geography distributed as follows:

a. Core courses ( 36 credit hours):

GEOG230 , GEOG231 , GEOG232 , GEOG234 , GEOG235 , GEOG331 , GEOG333 , GEOG338 , GEOG436 , GEOG438 , GEOG239 or GEOG335 , GEOG336 or GEOG431

b. Elective courses (6 credit hours) from other courses in Geography.

2. Student must successfully complete a minimum of 21 credit hours of courses in History as follows:

          a. Core courses (18 credit hours):

                    HIST231 , HIST238 , HIST337 , HIST338 , HIST430 or HIST431 , HIST432 .

           b. Elective course (6 credit hours) in other History courses,excluding ( HIST134 ).
