Bachelor Program in Chemistry
Admission Requirements
1. Student must successfully complete and obtain a cumulative average of 70% in CHEM111 , CHEM112 , CHEM131 , and CHEM132 .
2. Department approval based on intake capacity - priority is given to students with higher scores in the courses above and where these are even, other academic criteria can be sought by the department committee.
Condition for Continuing in Major
Student in Major must maintain a cumulative Major average of not less than 70%.
Program Requirements
Student must successfully complete a minimum of 61credit hours of courses distributed as follows:
1. Core courses in Chemistry (44 credit hours):
CHEM112 , CHEM231 , CHEM232 , CHEM233 , CHEM234 , CHEM331 , CHEM332 , CHEM333 , CHEM334 , CHEM335 , CHEM336 , CHEM411 , CHEM432 , CHEM434 , CHEM435 , CHEM436
2. Elective courses in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry (9 credit hours) from third year level and above and BIOC311 , BIOC331 . For the concentration in Applied Chemistry, all 9 credit hours must be in Applied Chemistry courses from third year level and above.
3. (8 credit hours) MATH231 , PHYS112 , PHYS211 , PHYS231
