Master Program in Economics
The program for the typical student consists of 1 5 credit hours of training in the core fields of econometrics, mathematical economics, macroeconomic and microeconomic theory . An additional 15 credit hours of electives and 6 credit hours of seminars or Thesis are also required. The department is concerned with the most important issues in economics, from macroeconomic polices to market structural analysis. As a result, the department takes a broad view of economics. The program allows students considerable freedom in planning their programs and allows them to choose courses outside the department that fit their interests and needs

Admission Requirements:
1- Applicants must pass an admission test in English covering basic economic, quantitative and logical skills.
2- A personal interview if the department council deems it necessary.
3- Admission is based on a weighted average for the B.A. The admission test and interview (if conducted) competitively.
4- The council may assign remedial courses if the student has a non-economics undergraduate major.
The Program Requirements:
The Economics student must complete 36 credit hours as follows:

*The student may take a maximum of six hours (two courses) from other master programs at the University. Prior approval by the department council is required.
c. Research Component: To successfully complete the research component by following Track A or B
Track A: Thesis ( ECON860 )
Track B: Two seminars ( ECON830 and ECON831 ) And a written comprehensive exam.
