Faculty of Information Technology
The Faculty of Information Technology, established at the beginning of the academic year 2006-2007, brought together three existing IT programs under one single umbrella.
The Faculty intends to embrace a diversity of IT disciplines that range from computer hardware and software development to intensive applications, combining traditional sciences with computer design, communication technology and other areas of relevance. The Faculty is hosted in both the Science and Engineering buildings.

The IT programs were developed in the past 10 years in response to the rising demand in the local industry and businesses for IT professionals capable of engaging and adapting to the ever-evolving technological environment and its implementation to solve problems and improve business and industrial processes.
New trends and needs are again emerging in the local, regional and international markets that require highly qualified professionals of wide-ranging expertise in this field. This Faculty, with its well-established programs. hopes to optimize on available resources to evolve and develop exiting and future programs that can successfully meet this demand.
The Faculty of IT emphasizes the ethos of Birzeit University regarding the quality of student-centered learning, education and its community outreach. This is reflected in the success rate of the graduates of the IT programs in both the industry sector and higher education.
