Physical Education Department

Following the transformation of Birzeit College into a University, the Physical Education Program was established in 1972. In addition to the activities of various sports groups such as: football, basketball, ping pong, handball and gymnastics. The Program conducts annual festivals and tournaments.

The mission of the Program is to raise athletic awareness based on scientific and healthy foundations ,and to  enable students to acquire knowledge and concepts pertaining to physical, psychological and social aspects.

In 2006, Birzeit University celebrated the opening of the new modern physical education building that included various internal and external facilities. This will facilitate the introduction of a Bachelor Program in Physical Education and the establishment of a Faculty of Physical Education in the near future.
